My co-workers and I recently attended the New York Accessories/ENK Show at the Javits Center in NYC. What an amazing experience and what a great time we had discovering new brands and new products to carry @ LBD! To start, this particular buying trip focused on just what the name suggests: Accessories. Scarves, jewelry, handbags are the core of this event but it is also a great way to meet with clothing vendors who work on a smaller scale.
We love to do our research, so a few lines were on our short list. #1 was Dogeared. Dogeared is a collection of petite jewelry designed to be both beautiful and meaningful. The brand embraces:
“stories, happy moments, milestones and experiences… that celebrate, connect and inspire customers. Each piece tells a story of individuality, self-expression, love, and friendship”
Our next conquest was also a jewelry line called Bourbon & Boweties, who ask the question “Do you bangle?” These stackable bracelets have a cult-like following in the South and feature chunky natural stones on slender bangle bracelets. Styled in a variety of colors, they will be the perfect accent to your summer clothes, especially preppy styles from Vineyard Vines (coming to LBD summer ’15!!)
We then made our way to the handbag area. After perusing aisle after aisle of handbags, we agreed unanimously that the perfect accompaniment to the styles at Little Black Dress was the handbags from Big Buddha. With prices below $100 for the large “carry everything you could possibly need and then some” Grayson hobo we are sure Big Buddha will be a big hit with LBD shoppers.
We also spent a little time ordering new styles from some of the favorite designers we already have in house: Tart Collection, Lucky Brand, KUT From The Kloth, Tyler Boe and Julie Brown and Brighton to drop just a few names.
